Effortless and chic, there is something about finding the perfect nude lipstick that is so exciting. Whether you're throwing it on and running to class or pairing it with a dramatic eye look for a special evening, there is nothing more essential to the makeup collection then the classic nude lip. Here I break down my favorite nude lipsticks based on color, consistency, and wear. With finishes from creams to mattes to lustres, and undertones from cool to warm to neutral, you're sure to find your perfect nude or another one to add to your collection.

Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick in Meringue: peachy nude $26.00
Bite Beauty is one of my all time favorite makeup brands, it is certainly my favorite lipstick brand. All of their products are vegan, gluten and cruelty free and organic. I hate it when lipsticks get that dry flaky feeling after an hour or two of wear, I find with Bite Lipsticks, I never have this problem and in fact they last for several hours, keeping my lips very hydrated. You also don't have to use a lot of product, one swipe and you're ready to go! Meringue is a soft cool toned peach but just natural enough to be an everyday color.

Becca Ultimate Lipstick Love in Sugar: cool light pinky beige $24.00
This is another ultra-hydrating lipstick. It is infused with avocado and olive oil which makes for a very smooth texture. The formula wears very nicely and lasts for a few hours while still keeping your lips hydrated. Sugar also matches my natural lips making it a perfect your lips but better color. The other shades in this range all have an indicator of whether they're cool, warm or neutral tones, making it easier to spot your perfect shade.

Mac Cosmetics Creemshene Lipstick in Creme In Your Coffee: creamy mid-tone pink brown $18.50
One of my favorite aspects about Mac Cosmetics is their wide variety of shade ranges. You can always be certain you can find your perfect nude, red, pink or coral shade. I have a neutral undertone and my natural lips are very pigmented. Creme in Your Coffee is a perfect color if you're looking for a pigmented nude that's not too pink or too brown. This is also a really good option if you have a deeper skin tone.

Clinique Chubby Stick in Whole Lotta Honey: creamy light maroon nude $18.50
I find Clinique products to be no fuss and practical for everyday makeup. Not everyone has the time for a full face everyday and I think Clinique does a great job of making those everyday products really count. This Chubby Stick wears as a hydrating lip balm. Imagine if you took a chapstick and lipstick and mixed them together while still getting good color payoff and you have the Clinique Chubby Stick. This was the first nude that I ever found to suit my skin tone. It's a perfect blend of a soft maroon with a bit of pink.

Bite Beauty Matte Creme Lip Crayon in Leche: dusty pale pink $24.00
If you're more into using a lip crayon than a lipstick, this is a perfect option, you can line your lips and fill in the color with one product. It goes on smoothly and stays put for hours without being overly creamy. Even though it's matte, it isn't drying but gives the effect of a lip stain with hydration. Leche is a neutral toned nude that amplifies a natural lip for everyday looks or an evening out.

Mac Cosmetics Lustre Lipstick in Politely Pink: dirty pink $18.50
If you prefer a lustre finish, Politely Pink is a beautiful option. It's not a very popular color from Mac so they are never sold out of it. It's a cool toned dusty pinky nude which looks great by itself, topped on another color or used to highlight the cupid's bow and center of the bottom lip.

Clinique Long Last Soft Matte Lipstick in Matte Suede: peachy soft brown nude $14.80
This color is unfortunately not being made anymore but I found an option on Ebay and it is also sold on Amazon. I am always a little hesitant when buying matte lipsticks because they tend to be so over-drying and give a crusty appearance as opposed to the luscious lip look that I'm always going for. However, this formula is very creamy and the color is very pigmented and neutral in tone making it very wearable.

BareMinerals Gen Nude Radient Lipstick in Bubbles: sheer peachy nude $18.00
I love this line of lipsticks! I have several shades in the line and keep going back for more. The first time I put it on, I thought I had mistaken a lipstick for a lip balm. The formula is creamy dreamy and stays on for hours. Bubbles is a more sheer warm nude and can be worn on its own or layered over another color to mute it down.

Bite Beauty The Multistick in Cashew: rose taupe $24.00
Yes, I know another Bite product, but their products are just so good! This Multistick can be used on the eyes, lips and cheeks and is a cream upon application but wears like a powder. Cashew is a warmer nude and is great if you want to wear a more monochromatic look and use it on your cheeks and eyes or if you are going for a more toned down lip look.

Stila Color Balm Lipstick in Jessie: mid-tone taupe nude $10.00
These Color Balms have a great minty scent and are quite refreshing to wear. They are very hydrating and the pigmentation is buildable from sheer to a more intense color. Jessie is a very cool toned brown hue. If I'm going for a more 90's look I wear it alone but if I want to make a warmer toned lipstick more flattering on me, I will add a touch of this.
